More Book of Boba ep. 2 Easter eggs
There was a Tatooine location we've all heard mentioned before
I didn’t get a massive wave of unsubscriptions after my Wookiee-fueled ravings in my last post, so I thought I’d return with a couple more Easter eggs from the last episode that would easily fly under the radar for most viewers.
First, we’ve got a callback to a location mentioned in A New Hope. When Boba heads out to kick some biker-gang ass, the venue for the beatdown is none other than Tosche Station, where Luke Skywalker infamously whined about wanting to go to pick up some power converters. I’m happy to report that, while he was denied by Uncle Owen, he did finally make it there:
The other original trilogy nod took place in the form of the human couple there.
They are Camie and Fixer, friends of Luke’s that appeared in a deleted scene from the original film.
I love that Robert Rodriguez and company are making an effort to include little details like this. It’s not fan service shoehorned in where it doesn’t belong, but just little added dashes of flavor and Star Wars authenticity for the true dorks like me. I love it.
Oh, and Camie may never have appeared on screen until now, but that doesn’t mean that Luke ever forgot about her.
I can see you and I are going to be good friends. I did know this one. 😁😁
