Mondays at the station are often a little slow. I had a doctor’s appointment before work and got in a few minutes late today, and then going through a few hundred emails is standard after I have been off for the entire weekend. A ton of them I can delete instantly, and others I flag to read later, or possibly to write about.
We have a fantastic assignment manager who excels at digging up good stories for me. Today he had one that wasn’t quite ready to write in full, but it involved a guy biting another man’s nose. I mean…that’s enough for me. I’m onboard. Let’s dive in.
First, I checked his name, hometown, and age. He’s a local guy in his 50s. The assignment manager had also sniffed out (pun sort-of intended) that the guy worked for Tyson Foods for almost 30 years. Tyson is a huge, local corporation, so that angle makes the story inherently even more interesting.
