This past week at work began with that post-holiday malaise feeling abundantly in effect. I was dragging a little bit—aren’t we all?—and work felt like a bit of a slog on Monday. Then the pace really began to pick up.

Tuesday was Inauguration Day for our new Governor, who promptly cranked out seven executive orders on her first day in office. I wrote about all of those as they came in. Richard “Big O” Barnett is the January 6 insurrectionist notorious for putting his feet up on the desk in Nancy Pelosi’s office during the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol, and his trial began this week. This is…interesting to say the least, since he has flat-out boasted about what he did. He literally left a signed note at the scene of the crime. And since he’s from Northwest Arkansas, it’s a story that we should definitely cover.
