I haven’t written about my kids a lot here. I have a 15-year-old-son in 10th grade and a twelve-year-old daughter in 7th grade. Today, their juxtaposing personalities make for a perfect little “slice of life” moment of content.
First, the boy. It is often a challenge to roust him from bed to get to school on time. We live really close—it’s the primary reason I picked this house to rent, so that we can get to campus in a couple of minutes. So I usually function as his human snooze alarm, going in to poke and prod him a couple of times before he actually lumbers out of the bed. Once his feet his the floor, that’s usually sufficient, but sometimes, that happens and then he will crash back into the mattress.
We’ve all been there.
