Most of this past week at work was a little rough. On Monday and Tuesday, I covered the late night shift on the desk, which includes more of the duties that I am not as experienced at. We were also a little short-handed, and moments when there are literally five things at once that I need to take care of got me a little bit flustered.
But later in the week, I had an assignment that was more in my wheelhouse.
Spencer McDonald is a Las Vegas man charged with a recent triple homicide. He was indicted by a grand jury, and we got a copy of the transcript from the hearing that led to that.

“Hey, can you take a look at that and write it up?” was how my boss greeted me as soon as I arrived at the station on Thursday.
Yup. That’s absolutely something I can do. And after a few days of feeling like I was floundering and out of my element a little bit, it felt great to dive back into a nice, fat, juicy court document.
Six witnesses testified before the grand jury: two detectives that responded to the murder scene, a neighbor, the employer of one of the victims, and two maintenance workers from the apartment complex where the murders occurred.
