I figured I’d knock out a quick post about today, because I was looking forward to my first time heading to court to cover a non-Duggar story. This one involves a local doctor accused of sexual assault by at least a dozen women. Today was a preliminary hearing scheduled in the Washington County Circuit Court at 7:45 AM, where he faces two counts of felony sexual assault. My assignment manager wanted me to be there, so I was.

Mistake #1: Mine, I guess. I got there at about 7:30 and parked on the ground floor of the adjacent structure. I saw a couple of people heading into the building, so I just followed them. I checked a wall guide and identified my destination—a courtroom on the 4th floor. The courtroom itself was locked, so I grabbed a spot on a bench in the hall.
