Getting back into the routine today was rough

I put my kids on a plane back to Arkansas yesterday, and that was tougher than I anticipated. When I left to head out west, obviously it was heartbreaking to say goodbye. But I knew that I’d be seeing them again soon, and I had plenty of new things in Las Vegas to be excited about and to look forward to.

I didn’t expect it, but the goodbyes this time around might have been worse. I don’t know when I’ll see them next. It might not be until November. And now I’m just looking at a hot, lonely grind of a summer.

Last Thursday, I came home from work and went to say hi to my daughter and was unceremoniously shushed and shoved out of her room. The reason for that was the latest “Taylor’s Version” album had just dropped minutes earlier.
