For years, bright minds and pundits have theorized that “the next big thing” in technology is going to be artificial intelligence. Mark Cuban has predicted that it will dominate the workplace. And while I didn’t exactly doubt him, my initial thought was that writing might be one field where humans could continue to prosper, with my thinking being that true creativity would be really tough to program. I mean…there have to be limits to what AI can generate on its own, right?
Well, dear reader, I have tried ChatGPT and I’m not so confident anymore.
You’ve probably heard of it. If not, just give it a minute and you inevitably will. In case you haven’t yet, it is a text-based AI program that has been released to the public. You can register for free to try it out, which I have done, fully aware that I’m probably contributing to the inevitable demise of my career and profession or perhaps even the entire human race.
