I had planned this since this morning, because I tracked down the contact information for an employee of the federal courthouse, and I emailed her to ask about what the protocol might be on May 25.
“I am attaching the order that was in place for the trial,” she wrote back, sending me the order from last year that stated that absolutely no electronics would be allowed in the gallery.
“I am certain it will be the same for the sentencing hearing. The Court will be entering a formal order a few days prior to the hearing,” she added.
And to think this was, in my mind and at the time, kind of a big update. Because I certainly did not expect the prosecution to close the business day by bringing some high heat in the form of a scathing, bullet-pointed deconstruction of all of the defense team’s objections to proposed enhancements for sentencing.
We’re one week out. Plus it’s six days until primary election day in Arkansas, which will also be quite a busy day at the office for me.
I’m eagerly looking forward to covering all of it. Thanks for you continued support, and thanks for reading.
